| I've always loved the Phantom, and the first pro artist I ever met was Tex Willman -- at one time one of Ray Moore's assistants. This piece was a rough for one of the "Defenders of the Earth" title cards. It was inked twice -- first by Gray Morrow and then by Nestor Redondo, then beautifully painted on cel for use in the show. One of the best lunches I ever had was with dual legends Lee Falk and Stan Lee while we worked on the Defenders' pilot. Lee signed the Phantom art Tex gave me! |
